License Server Not Being Found
Hi,
We havve Bartender Automated Edition running on our network. We have installed the software, using the silent install document and installed a license server on the network.
Our unattended installation of Bartender works fine, but I need to manually assign the license server, as it is not being detected on the network.
My question is: Is there anything else I need to do to ensure that the Bartender Clients automatically find the license server?

Once BarTender has being installed using the silent installation, if BarTender does not automatically find the Seagull License Server, you can configure this connection from within BarTender via its "Administer > Licensing Setup" dialog. You would manually uncheck the "Automatically Find Seagull License Server" checkbox and manually enter the IP address or Host Name of the computer running Seagull License Server. Make sure that the port number matches with the UDP port number on the License Server (Tools > General Options > Network).
Make sure that there is no firewall on the BarTender side blocking the UDP port you've specified or the "bartend.exe" application. On the License Server side, make sure that there is no firewall blocking the same UDP port and also make sure that "sls.exe" and "slssrv.exe" are included as exceptions.
The BarTender connection details are saved into a file called BTLM.INI and which is normally located under "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Seagull\BarTender" (or c:\ProgramData or c:\Users for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008). You could edit this file and then copy it to the computer you're installing BarTender on as part of the silent installation script (a bat file for example).0 -

We get the same error when printing barcodes, but we do not use a licensing server.
Can you assist me with this error?0 -

Hello TDHCA,
If you purchased the Automation edition of BarTender (which it appears you did from your screenshot), you will need to install Seagull License Server (SLS) on one computer on your network. SLS, which is a separate program, manages the printer licensing for the Automation editions. For more information, take a look at the following white paper:

my License Server just randomly crashed over the weekend (and appears to remain a bit unstable). Not sure if that's related at all. Anyone else running 9.4 SR1 without issues? I may just bump the SLS up to 10.0 anyway... Just weird, as this is the first time I can remember that I'm having issues getting the SLS to stay running.
I haven't restarted the whole server yet, because it's also our file/exchange server - so I only try to do that when it's the last option.0
