I am evaluating bartender in order the improve our labeling process.
Is it possible to fill in the fields defined in my data entry form using parameter supplied from the command line ?
If not, is there any other alternative ?

Hi, DRCS:

Can you elaborate more what parameter you want to pass in command line for label printing? You can reference our white paper Integration Overview: Importing Data into BarTender and Controlling BarTender from within other Programs http://www.seagullscientific.com/aspx/white-papers.aspx1 for more options.

There are many integration inside Bartender you can implement
1)Command line: for example: "C:\Program Files\Seagull\BarTender Suite\bartend.exe" /AF="D:\Format1.btw" /P /X
Command line might not be the best choice for huge printing job.

2. Commander: http://s3.amazonaws.com/SeagullBarTender/ftp/WhitePapers/WhitePaper_Commander_English.pdf
It “watches” for the appearance of a trigger event, such as the creation of a file, the arrival of an email, and/or data coming in over a TCP/IP port. When such a trigger is detected, Commander then “wakes up” BarTender and tells BarTender to print certain labels to certain printers

3. ActiveX

4. .NetSDK

If you need more personalized help on your particular label printing process, you can contact our regional support http://www.seagullscientific.com/aspx/technical-support.aspx

Thanks!

Hello Susan, I have a barcode with different segments of data one being a product code. I would like to be able to input this data from the command line as well as from the data entry form (of course the later works without problem).
My question is, is there any command line parameter I can use ? Or should I connect to a database for this ? Having the ability to pass information from the command line would make my life easier.

Thanks for the quick response.
