How To Set Up Multiple Product Labels? S’abonner
Hi, I'm a graphic designer used to working with Illustrator and InDesign on Mac and am trying to get my head around the Bartender software. I have read through the getting started topics and watched the videos, but can't seem to find out how to set up a document for multiple label variations. Am I missing something very basic?
I have set up a label template and will need to create about 40 individual product labels based on the template. What is the correct way to do this? Do I create a new document for each label based on the original template? Or do I duplicate the template within the document for each label? Or some other process?
I want to be able to edit the original template so that changes are applied to all the product labels. Each product label will have some database data (barcode and ingredients), but most of the design will be individually tailored.
Also, are there guidelines in Bartender so that you can align objects and type and mark out title safe zones etc? I'm used to dragging these out from the rulers, do they exist in Bartender? I realise that it's not a design program as such, but one of my jobs is requiring that I use bartender to recreate my label designs so that they can print their labels in house (black and white text based design, but with details that are that are not so easy to replicate).
Many thanks, ill look forward to any help or advice.
