Bartender 2022 and .NET
We have a server running Bartender 2022 (R2) used purely for licencing.
When bartender was installed it appears it has installed .NET and ASP.NET - both versions are currently out of support by microsoft:
C:\Program Files\dotnet\shared\Microsoft.NetCore.App\5.0.17\
C:\Program Files\dotnet\shared\Microsoft.AspNetCore.App\5.0.17
Given that the server is only issuing licences is it safe to update them to a newer version of .NET or, preferably, remove them?
We are stuck with running 11.3.2.184527 for the moment (issues with calculated fields on later versions - this will require a whole new thread). So updating Bartender will not be a quick solution for us.

From 2022 R7 .Net 6.0 has been supported, see:
I seem to think that some of the Windows services use some elements of these as dependencies and so there will probably be an issue if you remove them and so it looks like upgrading to the latest version (currently R8) would be only the way to go.

Given it is just the licence server can it be upgraded and still provide licences to an older version of Bartender installed on the client?

Yes that shouldn't be an issue I wouldn't have thought. The R version of the client installs does not need to match that of the licence machine as long as they are same version.
