blank labels aperiodically gets ejected from Bartender on ZD421
We have a customer with a few ZD421 label printers printing medium quantities of labels (from 50 to +2,000 a day) using latest Bartender software and on most days every label is perfect and printed as intended - but very aperiodically (1-2 times a week, then perhaps no problems for 8-10 days) the printers will start eject empty labels (1-2-3) in between perfect labels; and on rare occasions stop printed labels only ejecting blank ones.
We have checked sensors (manually cleaned them) run calibration from the driver menu. What helps is exchanging the printer physically with a similar one!?
According to the customer no problems existed while pirating the BarTender software :o
Only after going "legit" has the problems surfaced!
Any pointers would be very much appreciated <3

Not sure, but I would suggesting that if they aren't already using them that they switch to use the Seagull and not ZDesigner versions of the driver..

Peter Thane they are using the ZDesigner driver for sure. I was actually looking for ways to install the Seagull driver but somehow did not get it done - would you have a good pointer to a how to remove ZDesigner and install Seagull printer driver ?
Thx for your attention and interest <3

What I tend to do in this situation is run the Seagull Zebra installer and add the correct printer connected to file or lpt1 typically and once installed adjust the port so that it is using the same port as the ZDesigner variant and do a Tools>Actions>Form Feed test to make sure the driver and printer are "talking". After than I remove the ZDesigner driver from the Control Panel.
If you are using 2019 or upwards, please note, that the new printers will require licencing slots in the licence and so you may need assistance from Seagull Tech Support team to clear off the licence so that the printers can then print directly from BarTender
