Preventing a duplicate S’abonner

Hello there! My company has recently started working with bartender and I am fairly new to this one. We have encountered an issue. We use serialized barcodes because we require unique barcode on every box. The problem is that sometimes we encounter electricity loss and the serialization jumps back in terms of barcode numbers. I know there is a solution to auto-save documents by using print station, but in this case it would not be an option. I was wondering if any of these two solutions are possible with a vb script -

  • Checking for a duplicates in a text file. If the duplicated is found then cancel print and send an error message to change the barcode.
  • Or maybe some sort of way to automatically save the bartender document after last one is printed.

PS. We also have attached SQL database, but I don't know if there is anything I can do with it.

I believe I have a copy of a label from a very old version of BarTender that uses VB to read in a value from a text file, increment it and write it back out again.

I had a customer who security software would periodically stop the label from being saved and so they cpuld end up with duplicates with the SSCC pallet ID and this got round it.

Is there a way you could send the copy of the document or paste the vb script over here :)?
