Should you be using a Code-128 symbol and not a GS1-128?

So we are migrating from an old software to Bartender , in the previous software the codes were set at UCC/ean-128 which I believe is the same as GS1-128, but the human readable looks different .

As AI 16 is a date and has to be 6 characters long in YYMMDD format then the number you are using is not valid for a GS1-128.
GS1-128/UCC-128/EAN-128 is a variant of Code 128 with a function 1 added to the start of it which does not appear in the Human Readable so it sounds like to me that the old software was actually creating a Code 128 without the F1. Not knowing what your old software was, was there a tick box or similar to enable the AI's?
