Bartender Automation 2016 (R6) and SQL Server Support

Hi,

We have a site using Bartender automation 2016 (R6) and a local instance of 2008 SQL Server Express, installed by Bartender.  We would like to move the Bartender SQL system database to a full SQL Server 2016 on a separate SQL Server. Is this possible? I read on the internet that Automation needs a local instance. If possible does anyone have any instructions on how to move the database and poitn Bartender to the remote database?

  With the Automation edition the System Database needs to be locally installed and it cannot connect to a remote SQL database. 

  With the higher Enterprise edition this is not the case and you can connect multiple BarTender installations to the same centralised/remote database via the System Database Wizard. This would mean you would need to upgrade (including adding Maintenance if you do not already have this so you are able to upgrade) and if you did and needed to make one of the local System Database the new master central DB then this link below may help in how to achieve this, but as mentioned above this will not work with Automation edition.
