Run Query To Select Correct Templates フォローする

As of right now, we have roughly 50 different templates for our products. We are using Print Station to have the easiest way to select the correct templates.

The current process is for the user to scroll through the selection screen in Print Station and select what they think is the correct template, then a query prompt will appear asking them to enter the part number they want to print. After that, the Data Entry Form shows up showing a preview of the label and also shows the correct template # to use for the part they entered.

What we would like to have happen is the user just enters the part number they want to print into a query which will then show the correct template numbers (which are in the database) so they can then just choose the templates that show up without having to guess which to use and finding out at the very end of the current process that they have to back out and start over with the correct templates.

I am hoping there is an easy way to do this, if not, is it even possible?

Thank you.

in version 10.1 you can create one document that has ALL of your templates in one file and you can set the correct template to print on a condition.  In your case it sounds like you need to name your templates within the document as your template number and use the database field that you are already pulling as the conditional statement.

No more user interaction ... just correct template printing.

Can you have different sized templates saved in one file?

We have many different sized labels that we use, so the template sizes vary.

Honestly I have no idea ... but if you have different sized templates are they all printing to the same printer and the user is swaping out label stock?  If not you would run into a problem because the selection of the printer is done before the selection of which template to use in a document.  You may need to right some VB script to automate the correct selection of printer (no idea if this is possible).

Yea, we have just one printer that the user will change the stock of when needed. I did try to see if you could have different sized templates inside one file, but it seems like it isn't possible.

I think it is better for us to just keep using Print Station for now until we figure something else out that may be easier.

Thank you for the help.
