When Saving A Bartender Template, Label Changes Are Not Immediately Visible On Printout.

Problem:

When saving a Bartender template, label changes are not immediately visible on printout.  Commander task must be restarted for label changes to take effect.

 

Test Scenario – Fail:

•    Edit label field

•    Save Label

•    Create Trigger File

•    Label changes not present in printed label

 

Test Scenario – Pass:

•    Edit label field

•    Save Label

•    Restart Commander Task

•    Create Trigger File

•    Label changes are present in printed label

 

 

Is it possible to have the commander task recognize the label changes immediately instead of having to restart the commander task for the changes to appear?

  Hello Nhadley, 

   

  In older versions of BarTender, you need to restart the Commander detection in order to detect any changes on the document. 

   

  In the recent versions, you can set in the "Task Options>Command Handler Setup>Document Caching" tab the option called "Check for document changes every" X time. By default it would be 60 seconds. 

   

  If the option is not there in a version older than 10.0, then it is not included in your version of BarTender. The latest version of BarTender has that option.

  For this to work, Detection must be stopped, and it is in Task Properties, not Task Options..
   
  Right Click the Task, Click Properties

  Click Bartender Command Handler Setup button.  This button is only available when the task is stopped.

  Click the Document Caching tab
