Bartender Not Loading Task List After Reboot
Hi Bartender,
I have a 10.1 sr4 system in production that when it is rebooted, will not load the task list. This only occasionally happens, so I'm expecting it to be some kind of race condition; most of the time it is able to access the file, however sometimes - perhaps because other services have not started yet - it cannot load/find the file.
Commander is running as a system service (local system) with automatic delayed start.
There isn't a clear way to manage the service in its running state. If commander is unable to load the file when the system is started, it will not perform any recovery or monitor activity that could address the issue. There are of course Recovery options in services.msc if the service fails, however that doesn't happen - the service starts, it just does not load a file.
If you have any advice, please feel free to share,
Thanks, Dallas

Hi all,
This is still a major issue for us.
I have reviewed the help documentation and note that there are some command line parameters for commander. For example:
cmdr.exe [Parameters] [<Task_List_Path_&_Filename>]
I think my only solution here is to run commander in this fashion, and not rely on the 'general options/startup' for task list loading. Then I would have to detect if dd files are being processed or not, and restart commander if that is the case.
As per the attached screenshot, I set the task list to load locally (from c drive), in case there is an issue with network services when using the unc path. However commander seems to always revert back to its original configuration and load from the unc path. This happens after a reboot. Is there a registry setting or somewhere commander stores its general options config?
Thanks,
Dallas

We've reported that when Commander task list kept open in Commander GUI and reboot without closing Commander GUI, it may not load task list at next OS startup.
Please make sure to close Commander GUI before reboot / logoff. Don't keep Commander GUI open, Commander service and task detection can still be running at reboot.
I understand that is difficult in server environment, however that would significantly reduce such issue.
We hope to address this issue in future version.

Hi Shotaro,
Thanks for replying to our queries.
We performed some analysis on the Commander registry keys after making setting changes and note the settings are not persisted unless Commander GUI is closed. This has been corrected at our client site and hope the issue is now resolved!
Thanks again,
Dallas
