Pause Or Remove Printjobs After Printing Finishes ? フォローする

Is it somehow possible to clear the printers printjob memory, or pauze the printer, after the active printjob is finished ?

I have a situation where a printjob is send to a Zebra 170Xi4. The pieces to be printed is set to 9999.

People pick a label and attach it to a product, then the next label is printed and picked up etc.

Now it happens that people make mistakes and print another job to the same printer. This job is queued and will be printed as soon as the active printjob of 9999 pieces is finished.

When the active job is finished the queued job starts and people pick the label again and attach it. Without realising this they attach the label to a product, but in this case it's not the right label. (different batchnumbers or articlenumbers for example)

This can cause of lot of work because a wrong label is attached to a product.

So now i'm thinking of some reset or pause of the printer when the initial printjob is finished. This give the people a sign the printjob is finished and needs further action.

Whe use Bartender 9.2 SR2 with Seagull printer drivers and i also search options using Bartender 2016.

I found a setting "Cancel any jobs previously queued to this printer", but this cancels jobs before printing, not after job finishes.

So TLDR : Has Bartender an option to remove all printjobs in a Zebra printer or pause Zebra printer after active printjob finishes printing ?

"pause Zebra printer after active printjob finishes printing" if using the Seagull driver then in Preferences on the Stock tab you can set the printer to Pause after job.

Cancelling the job depends on how it is sent down to the printer. If the unit says printing "57 of 9999" for example then you should be able to cancel the job from the Front Panel buttons of the printer or else reset the unit (turn it off and on or send a reset command from the Preferences>Tools>Action>Reset Printer) .

If however the unit just repeats printing 1 of 1 then each label has been sent down to the unit individually probably due to a sequential number or similar that it using a True Type (such as Arial) rather than a Zebra device font. With the printer paused the cancel job from the front panel will need to be repeated a number of times as numerous files will be held in the units buffer. Moreover you will also need to clear the print jobs that will still be showing up in the list of jobs in printer window. It may be best to pause the unit and clear down the jobs on the PC first and then turn on/off the printer to get rid of all the files.

If you have got the printing 1 of 1 situation you may want to consider either changing the font in the label format to a Zebra font or else download the font you are using to the units non volatile memory so both BarTender and the printer can call it up as if it were a device font as this will then make the job clearing process far simpler.

I did not find the option you are talking about before and thought it was about printermodus. But the option looks like something i could use! Thanks.

Unit says printing x of 9999, but the people don't always look at the screen of the printer, they just take the label and other people take care of the job.. So when the printer reaches 9999 of 9999, it could be possible that a new job starts printing, which should not be the case, because there is the wrong info on the label. It always a user error, but that should be solved  -:)
