Passworded Excel File

    Normally with a password protected database you will need to supply the password in the database set-up options.  Do you have it?  However, I vaguely remember that for Excel that this might be a show stopper -- not sure though.

    Yes I do and I have also tried to create a file my self and get no where.

     

    It worked OK with office 2003 but corporate upgraded there office to 2007 and this is when it broke I have also tried it on 2010 and it still dose not work.

     

    Also the database setup wants a username and password Excel files do not have a username only password that I know of.

    Unfortunately Microsoft's OLE DB and ODBC drivers do not support password protected Excel files.   Not supported I'm afraid.

    So why dose my Customer have it work with Office 2003 on the same OS?

    You mean Excel 2003?  I don't know myself, I guess Microsoft changed something, which they're apt to do.
