Issue when printing a PDF generated by Bartender
Hi, I'm having some issues with Bartender generated PDFs and the sizing being different than what I specify on the page setup. I have my label size set to 3X1.5 and my page size set to 3.125X1.5, but whenever I try to print the PDF that's generated, the page size is completely different and I can't print it correctly. Does anyone have any ideas why this might be happening? Screenshots below:
Here is the designated page size:
Here is the designated layout size:
Here is what the pdf looks like when I open it:
But when I try to actually print the label, this is what it looks like:
For some reason it doesn't seem to translate correctly, and I'm kind of lost. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It looks to me that you need to look at the page size set in the device you are printing to and make sure that is set to the same size as your label

Hi Peter, thanks for your response. So you are saying that I need to go into my zebra printer settings and mess with the page sizes there? I thought that Bartender does that automatically based on the template size that I designate? I am just worried that if I mess with the settings of the printer then it will mess up all of my other normal prints that I have to do on this printer.

Why are you printing to PDF and not directly to the Zebra? This would give you better control of the printed output and probably improve the performance.
BarTender will create the label size when you create the PDF, if you then print the PDF on a page that is bigger than that will effect the output and that is what you are doing. My guess is the default 4x4 inch label/page size is being used by the printer driver when you send the PDF down.

I was able to understand what you meant and I think I answered my own question, Peter. From what I'm seeing through testing, Bartender settings take precedent when printing from the designer or through xml, but from PDF the printer preferences take precedent so you have to go into your printer preferences and change them there to affect how the labels will be printed. Please correct me if I am wrong, I just want to get it right to potentially help some more people that are having the same issue.
Thank you again!

We're not able to print from the zebra printer because it is on a different network, so setting up an integration to perform a PDF drop based on an xml was the only feasible way (for many reasons) to perform this given our restrictions. While not ideal it's a step in the right direction to allowing us to print labels at a vendor.

Printing to PDF is effectively creating and image of the label at a set size etc, when you print your page settings in the printer driver being used need to match your PDF size otherwise the printed image will only cover part of the label. It is like scanning a photograph and then printing at 100% size it on a A4 sheet, the photo will just appear on part of the page.
Printing directly from BarTender directly you have to tell it what label size to use, but if you then print the label on a different size physical label the image will either print over multiple labels (if smaller physical label) or only on part of the label if the actual label is bigger than your design
