32/64bit woes 追蹤

Hi Guys

This 32/64 bit issue is really testing me and I'm finding a solution hard to find. Let me describe the environment

We have a number of PCs that need to use Bartender, They are all i3/i5 64bit CPU with 4GB RAM with Windows 10 64bit Pro installed.

We use Bartender to access a number of spreadsheets usually MS Office 2010/2013 32bit and Access 2010 32bit.

We have been using Bartender 2016R2 32bit.

This allows us to access the Office Excel files without issue I have been developing an App in MS Access 2010 32Bit utilising Integration builder, which needed me to upgrade to Bartender 2016R3.

On the Development PC I used the 64bit version and all was well, except the development PC could not then access the data in the Excel Spreadsheets. Each time I tried to open the Excel Spreadsheet from Bartender Designer. The system came up with an error: The 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine.

I tried to update the Access 2010 Runtime with both the 32 bit and 64bit but the error in opening Excel files persisted with the same error code.

So I decided as the office Apps were all 32Bit I’d change to the 32bit version of Bartender 2016R3. This appeared to work initially, at least for Excel files, allowing normal operation again.

However, now Integration Builder complains about the text files being generated by MS Access 2010 (32bit) with this message: ‘Failed to run action 'Print Command Script'. Details: BarTender is unable to print your document because a BarTender 32-bit installation is detected on a 64-bit operating system. To continue printing please install a 64-bit BarTender version. For more information see white paper "32-bit and 64-bit BarTender" on Seagull's web site.’

These are the same files that were printing from the Access 2010 (32bit) - Bartender 64bit without issue. Now they don’t.

I have read the white paper and it seems to quite clearly that if you have 32bit apps even on a 64Bit CPU/OS use the 32bit Bartender. This appears not to be true?

So my question is which version of bartender 2106R3 should I be using on a 64bit CPU/OS with 32bit apps like Microsoft Office 2010/2013 Excel and Access please.

Or if I install the 64bit version of Bartender 2016R3 how do I once again allow it to open 32bit Excel file?

Please help me – this is driving me nuts L

I have had to move to another PC as the software persistently crashed, when trying to save templates. It was working but I seem to be having the same problem with 32/64 bit oledb !

Have you managed to get an answer?

When this software works its great, but it is taking a significant amount of my time everytime i come to print of any new labels....

Hi Paddy

I know its so infuriating when it goes cranky. I submitted this to Seagull support which we are lucky enough to have and they sent me a link which explained the process completely enough for me to be able to successfully implement the 64bit Bartender on machine with 32bit office apps. Here is the link, I hope it works for you too; https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad-civil-3d/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-install-64-bit-Microsoft-Database-Drivers-alongside-32-bit-Microsoft-Office.html

Oh and if you upgrade from 32 to 64 bit Bartender, completely uninstall the 32 bit version first and any Access Runtime packs you may have installed, I had both 32 and 64 bit and I suspect it didn't like both. A clean install of everything 64 bit seemed to do the job.

Good luck
