How To Clear All Prompt Dialog Fields
Hi,
I have a label that is being populated by several fields on the Prompt Dialog. When I print a label it saves the values that I have entered into the Prompt Dialog so that they are populated the next time I go to print the label -- is there a way that I can empty those fields instead of having them populated the next time I go to print?
I've tried setting the .value property of the fields of the Prompt Dialog using VB Script events (OnOpen, OnSave, OnPrintJobEnd, etc.) but I get an error message telling me "Unable to write read-only property" when trying to save my VB script code.
How can I emtpy the Prompt Dialog fields?

Under the "Prompting" tab of the "More Options" dialog from withing the objects properties (where you can create new prompt controls), you only need to uncheck the "Update sub-string after print" option with the required prompt control selected.

Thanks for the reply. I just checked and I already have those checkboxes un-checked -- but your suggestion did lead me to look in another place for this problem. I am printing these labels from the BarTender Web Print Server and there is a setting under Site Administration, on the 'Label Formats' tab: a checkbox 'Save if any sub string, prompt, or query prompt data has changed' -- if I un-check this the values will not be saved when I print the label.
This isn't the perfect solution -- since it applies to all labels that are on the BarTender Web Print Server, not just the one I want to clear the prompt fields on, and it doesn't clear the fields when I click on 'print', it only clears the fields if I go back to the main page (where I choose what label to print) by clicking the 'Return to Label Format Selection' button at the bottom of the page, and then go back into the label that I want to print.
Is there anything I'm missing that I could alternatively do in the Web Printer Server?

I'm afraid that we don't currently support this feature, but we do have an opened "feature request" for it for which I've added a hit on your behalf. Hopefully future releases of our software will include it.
