Why Do I Have An Unexpected Left Margin Moving Print Data To Right 追蹤

I am new to BarTender, and have most of it figured out, except that when I print, an unxpected left margin is created that pushes my data to the right.

I am using Windows 7, BarTender Automation 10.1 SR3, and printing to a Zebra 105SL (203 dpi) printer.  The label I use is 2 columns, each label is 1.25" wide by 1" tall.  Gap between labels (top and side) is .125".  The label is defined with a .05" left margin, and the printer unprintable area is set to 0.

The label previews fine, with all data centered correctly in the label.  When I actually print, the labels, both the left and right label are shifted right by around 1/4" (maybe slightly less), giving more white space (margin) on the left side, and therefore losing right side data off the label.  It's almost as if the label is not loaded correctly in the printer, but I am sure it is.

I've attached my btw and a pdf of the actual printed labels.

There isn't anything odd in the label format that would account for this, it's more than likely a printer setting.

Are you using a Seagull printer driver for your printer?  If so, do a reset on the printer by going to devices and printers, right-clicking on the printer, selecting 'printer properties', than when inside the driver, select the 'tools' tab, then 'action' and 'reset printer to factory defaults'.

I am also new to BarTender and am experiencing the same issues.  Windows 7, Enterprise Automation 10.1 SR3.

I'm using a DataMax O'Neil H-4606 thermal printer (600 dpi) with custom made label stock:  3.00"x2.50", gap between labels (top and side) is 0.125".  In the printer margins, I've entered in 0.06" for top/bottom/left/right.

My labels also printer too far up (top of the artwork is cut off).  The L and R margins seem fine.  I've adjusted my margins to have a top of 0.125" and a bottom of 0" - and my artwork looks low on my template and in print preview but it seems to be printing centered on my label.

Is there a way for me to adjust the page settings so that my print preview and what actually prints is one in the same?

Hi,

I'm not a Bartender user, but I am familiar with the Zebra 105SL. If you look very closely at the manual you will find that the printer has a zero pixel position of 2.5mm, which means the first elemtn in the print head is 2.5mm inboard from the left hand guide. If the face stock you are using comes all the way to the edge of its liner, this means a minimum left margin of 2.5mm. I've tried to illustrate in a diagram (attached).

Hope this helps. Essentially, the prinrter has a 2.5mm unprintable area down the left hand side.

Leave wide margins if you can.

Kind regards,

Paul

PS: Additionally, when you are printing 2up, 3up, etc across - sometimes the gap is duplicated at the left of the first label giving you a wider than expected left margin. Sometimes you'll be better off using a zero gap and adjusting the placement of the label objects instead.[attachment=1763:Zebra 105SL Alignment.doc]
