    1. Firstly please note that your version of BarTender is pretty old and not comptible with Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 (both Standard and R2) and Windows Vista. Also it has reached it's End Of Support (EOS).

If you are going to work on trial mode I would suggest you download and install our latest version from the below webpage:
    http://www.seagullscientific.com/aspx/free-bar-code-label-printing-software-download.aspx

    2. Regarding your issue, are you using an Excel sheet as a database? Note that, although BarTender does support its use as database, this is not a proper database but a spreadsheet instead, with its own internal logic (part of it contrary to how a database should run).

Your issue usually occurs when Excel "marks" empty cells as available, making it hard for BarTender to read this extra generated fields and/or records (can you see any extra fields on the "File>Database Connection Setup..." option?).

To solve it could you try copying all cells on your database with valid data into a brand new Excel sheet, save it and connect to this new file instead?

Hello Fernando, thanks for the repply

I was considering and try to install the newest version of BarTender, but i can't install on my PC since i have Windows XP SP2 installed, it's require SP3 instead.

I plan to use ActiveX Automation feature and execute it from VB6, i am not use excel as my external database, i use text file and i have column and data format correctly. but i still get same error.

    Any idea ?

    Thank you

Going through your label I've noticed two things:

    1. The reason why you are getting this error is because you're are trying to print the sixth record of the database while your text file has only 4 records. This will always give you the "No records found" error.

Note that the "File>Print..." setting where the number of copies are set get's saved with the actual label format.

    2. I would recommend you avoid using mapped drives to specify the database location, instead you should use UNC paths. This are much more reliable, especially if you are going to integrate BarTender on the background (which probably will have BarTender work under a service environment).

    Regards.
