Printing With Filled Shapes Overlaying Text
I am printing on a zebra printer I170 IIIplus. When I am printing all I get is a black box.
I have a rectangle overlaying my text. And i went to arrange and order and brought text to the front.
When i do this i can see on my template how I want it to print but it doesn't print this way. I have had a dirrent file where it did print this way.
i have compared them both but can't figure out what is causing it.

When printing “white on black” text, there are some points to consider / try:
- In Bartender, select the “File > Print” dialog, choose the “Object Print Method" tab and set the True Type Text, Lines and Boxes to be "Raster Graphics".
- Also, select the “File > Print” dialog, choose the “Performance” tab and disable all printer optimizations for testing purposes.
- Choose a True Type font instead of a printer internal font as the text will be sent as a graphic rather than as a text printer command.
- “White on Black” effect can either be achieved by placing White text on black box background, or by enabling the “White on Black” text object property (which can be found under the “Font” tab. Please try both of them if possible.
Does this help?

I have tried both of these and nothing changes.

Can you let me know which from my suggestions you've tried?
If you don't get the data from a database, do you still have the same issue?
If you use a different font typeface (such as Arial Unicode), do you still have the same issue?

I am not sure how to print something without pulling from a database I have never done it any other way.
I changed the font to Arial and it works. I have downloaded a font "helvetica_neue_lt_com_93_black_extended_oblique"
Is there anyway to make this font to work?

When you say you've downloaded the font, do you mean you've installed it as a Windows font under the "c:\Windows\Fonts" Windows folder, or do you mean that you've downloaded the font to the printer? As a test (if you haven't done this yet), you can try to download the font to the printer via the printer drivers properties "Font" tab. Once the font has been downloaded, you can even list the downloaded font as a printer font, so in BarTender you will see this font with the "printer" icon and preceded by an "*". In order to download the font as a printer font, choose the "Font" tab under printer driver properties dialog, choose the "Font" drop-down list and now "Font Settings". Choose the "Downloaded Fonts" tab and now enable the "List Downloaded Fonts as Printer Fonts" checkbox.
Not sure if this will help...

Thanks for the help, but I called into technical support and was able to get it figured out.
I couldn't have the font downloaded to the printer for white on black.

What was the solution to the problem in the end?

Yes the person I spoke to said downlaoded fonts can't be printed black on white.
So deleting the font from the printer was the solution
