That usually means that the printer set for an incorrect label length.  Run a calibration on the printer and see if that fixes it.

Mike, My label is 6" long and the label in the printer is 6.5" long. Seems like this problem started when I tried using my desk printer (8.5x11) for testing the label. It prints 6 copies whether I print to my desk printer or to the label printer. So is the problem within my BTW file? (I did the calibration no change, plus the production stuff is working OK, just my 2 new labels).

    Hi there,

Can you attach the label format on here as well so we can look at it?

Also, just to clarify, you're specifying 1 copy and receiving 6 of the same labels? Or 6 blanks, and 1 print?

Hello Levi,  you are correct, I am requesting 1 label, 1 copy but getting 6 printed labels. This is happening on 2 label templates I created. I've attached the BTW but cannot attach the access database. I am going to print some other known good labels (from my new client). If I have to, I guess I could start from scratch and build new templates.

I tested another label, just a simple "fill in the blanks" label template and it worked good. The issue is isolated to 2 templates. Both are using a prompt for the number of copies, so maybe the problem lies in there?

Can I have you do the following:

    Open label

    1. Go to Administer at the top->Advanced Printer and Driver Setup
    2. Select your printer on the left
    3. Once selected, on the right you will see a box at the top that says "Override Default Settings", check that box
    4. Once checked, look towards the bottom and uncheck all the boxes.

I've attached a screen shot as well.

Also, just as a rudimentary base, please make sure you have the Intermec printer selected, and it has automatically adjusted to the label. It will prompt for automatic adjustment if it needs it.

I will try to do this today. I made the change as you suggested but I cannot print at the moment (I am offsite).

Now it is printing 3 labels upon requesting 1.

If you press the feed button, does 1 label come out, or do multiple? If multiple come out, please calibrate your printer again. If it cannot consistently feed 1 label when you hit the feed button, there is an issue with the calibration on the printer itself.

If you get 1 label out, that means the template size may not be set correctly.

Can you answer the following? The more details the better.

    • What printer are you trying to print to?
    • What is your stock width and height? Stock refers to the label plus the backing of the label combined, often referred to as margins.
    • What is the label size?
    • Do your labels have marks on the back? Or just gaped/webbing in-between each label? Or is it a continuous roll?

This is only occurring with 2 label templates. All of my other templates are working fine. I am going to create 2 new labels from scratch because this is taking way too long to resolve this way. Thank you all for your efforts.

Once I disconnected the database, the label printed correctly. I'm not sure of the cause, but I added the dbase back in, went through and remapped all my connections and it works correctly now.
