Label Design
Experts,
I need to design the labels using bartender software and need to import in SAP. Am able to create the lables and able to import the label into .ITF file extension. Lable will be having logo, static and dynamic fields. Now the problem is how we can integrate the same in SAP.Have created a standard text in SAP and upload the .ITF extension file into sap. But not sure how we can use the standard text in sapscript. But in the standard text junk information is coming after importing the label into sap. Have attached the standard text screenshot. Kindly help me how to integrate the label in sap if there are any white papers available.
Thanks and regards,

Can you attach an example of the ITF file you export from BarTender?
Note that you will need to consult with an SAP expert with regards to using the exported file within SAP. I can help you make sure the file in suitable for use, but we have no SAP system here to use, and have little actual experience in doing this ourselves. Maybe someone else in the forum can help?

In the document properties of the printer driver, under the "Options" tab, untick the "Binary Downloading" checkbox. This will force the graphic data to be rendered in a human readable hex data format which is SAP ITF friendly.

Hi Ian,
As per the last reply, i have removed the check box for the binary downloading option, but still i am getting the same .ITF format. I have attached the printer code template(after the binary downloading checkbox untick) for your reference.
Have a nice day!!
Thanks and Regards,

You could always flash a Fingerprint firmware on your printer, then install the Direct Protocol (DP) printer driver for the same printer model, go again to the properties of the new printer driver, select the "Options" tab and now choose "IntelHex" as the graphic encoding...

Hi,
We are using Intermec PM43(300 dpi) printer for designing the RF labels, so you want us to install the Intermec FingerPrint printers for the same printer what we are using now. Pls correct if i am wrong. Waiting for your reply.
Thanks and regards,

Hello Zakir,
Yes, I recommend you to flash a different firmware on the same printer. Fingerprint firmware instead of IPL. This will allow you to make use of the Direct Protocol printer driver we also have for this printer (and with the possibility to change the encoding for the graphic in Hex mode).

Hi,
While designing the label in bartender, we are facing some of the errors while importing to SAP, Please find the list of errors that we are facing and kindly help on this.
ERROR 15,"FONT NOT FOUND"
I have checked with all the font available in system and bartender software, but still the error persists.
ERROR 18,"DISK FULL"
Not able to understand what the error is, Disk Space is free abt 180 GB in system
ERROR 26,"PARAMETER TOO LARGE"
What kind of parameter it is refereing?
ERROR 27,"PARAMETER TOO SMALL"
What kind of parameter it is refereing?
ERROR 37,"CUTTER DEVICE NOT FOUND"
What is meant by Cutter Device and where it is missing??
ERROR 1003,"FIELD OUT OF LABEL"
Template is fine, and every field is inside the label template.
Because of the above errors, we are not able to do print through SAP, as per the SAP adminstartion there is no problem with the SAP, as we are facing the error in Bartender deign only.
Thanks and Regards,

Could you send me a screenshot of the exact error message you get in SAP?
Do you get any issues importing the SAPScript-ITF file if you remove the following lines from the ITF file?
/ ERROR 15,"FONT NOT FOUND"/ ERROR 18,"DISK FULL"/ ERROR 26,"PARAMETER TOO LARGE"/ ERROR 27,"PARAMETER TOO SMALL"/ ERROR 37,"CUTTER DEVICE NOT FOUND"/ ERROR 1003,"FIELD OUT OF LABEL"Please note that these commands just tell the printer which error messages to enable, it doesn't mean that these error message will be shown.Further to your latest post, please get in contact with the printer manufacturer and get your printer to the latest version of Fingerprint firmware. DP language is a subset of Fingerprint firmware, so it will only work when Fingerprint firmware has been installed on the printer.0 -

What you're seeing is just pure DP print code, not any error message in SAP. In DP (Direct Protocol) you can set a list of predefined error messages which, should they occur, will appear in the printer at print time. Please disregard these commands in the SAPScript-ITF file.

HI,
I have created a label , exported to print code template for ITF file uploaded into SAP script, during the print all fields are getting populated fine.
When i cut short the label to only some 4 fields and generate ITF file , upload into SAP script, i don't see any data getting populated nor the label is getting printed.
Kindly let me know what could be the issue.
Thank you.
