Bartender Idoc Generation -- Issue In Passing The File Encoding Designation
Hello, let me try to explain my issue...
I can choose between a lot of data sources in BarTender in order to import data into the label’s layout. For most of this sources I'm able to specify the correct encoding of the
source content (ex. for a txt file i'm able to specify the encoding choosing from Unicode UTF-8 , Unicode UTF-16 ecc...ecc...)
For IDOC files I'm not able to specify the encoding on BarTender. Seems that this kind of information must be placed inside the parser file or inside the IDOC file when they are generated.
This missing information may cause some issue with particular characters typical of some language (ex. Portuguese language). In this case BarTender is not able to read that special character and this is a big problem when we have to print label.
Somebody can help me to find a solution?
Thanks!!

It appears that BarTender doesn't currently support to read Unicode Idoc files. This is a feature request item in our system.
Are you directly printing from BarTender, or via some sort of automation, such as using our middleware Software Commander?
Have you tried saving the Idoc under the particular code page which supports the particular characters you're looking for, rather than encoding them as UTF-8?
