Opening File From Database 追蹤

Hi,

In bartender I have a label that reads from an access database. Right now when I go and print that label it will prompt me for a number then I will enter the number in and it will fill out all of the information for that label. Now what I need to do is to be able to enter a number into the prompt, then based off of what type of number it is then it will open a different label format that pertains to it. For instance, in the prompt I would type in "1234", then in my database it would be associated with formatA, so then it would open formatA. Is there a way to do this? If anyone could help me out that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Kim

We don't support such functionality directly. You would need to create a front-end application form, using something like VB.NET, to programmatically control BarTender to open a label format file, according to the entered code, set data on that label, and then print it.

The below white papers will get you started:

*Note that this requires the Automation edition or above.

Hi,

How about this. Is there a way to set it up that it when you enter an number into a prompt and when it says no records found, it will open a different format. Is that at all possible?

Hmmm, I just had an idea. In BarTender v10.0 onwards we support multiple templates per BarTender document. A template is basically a label layout, and you can have one or more templates to each BarTender document. Also in v10.0 is a template selector, which allows you to select a template to print based on a value in the data source. Such a template selector use in the BarTender document based off of your prompted data should give you approximately what you want.

See the below white paper for more information on templates and the template selector feature:
