Is 162.14.84.70:7170 supposed to be a printer of some kind or perhaps a print server box?  What is the printer driver in use and how is it setup?  I assume you've checked firewall possibilities?  More information needed.

Ian -- It is a printer and there is no firewall issue.  Here is a little background.  The app is a vb.net app that calls Bartender 10.1 to print.  I can run the app on our test vm machine here in our corporate office no problem.  We have a vm machine in our plant that we have loaded Bartender on, deployed the app to the machine and when it runs at the plant I get the error.  It is an Intermec printer.  Not sure what you mean by how is the printer driver setup can you eloborate.

If you run BarTender manually at the plant to print a label, what error if any do you get?  Does your VB.NET app run as a Windows application or as a service?  if as a service, do you specify a login for the service to use?  In the printer driver what do you have configured under the "Ports" tab?  Typically we use a standard TCP/IP printer port configured with the RAW type on port 9100.  What driver version is in use?  Enable the application message logging in BarTender to text file, and then take a look at it to see what messages if any appear.

The vb app is a windows application.  Ports are set as TCP/IP RAW 9100, driver version is EasyCode 3400D.  When I tried to print a label off the plant machine I got an error message 1402   Bartender cannot locate the seagull license server on the network?  What does this mean, as the machine at the plant has a licensed version of Bartender on it.  We have 6 plants that this app will need to run at.  Is there some set up or install process that I need to do?

The activated BarTender client needs to contact and activated and running Seagull License Server in order to get a printer license for the print job.  You can configure this via the "Administer>Licensing Setup" menu item.  I suggest you disable the auto find option, and instead specify the host name or IP address location of where License Server is running.  See the below white paper for more details:
