Can Not Print Different Size Labels
We just started using a Zebra Printer to print different size labels using continuous label stock. The fist label I printed on it was a 5.5" long label, and now it seems ever since then all I can print is a 5.5" label. If the label I print is 2", then the printer feeds out a total of 5.5 inches of stock including the printed label. If I try to print a 10" label, it stops printing at 5.5 inches and the label is incomplete. I don't know how to get the printer to read each label size instead of just remembering the last one printed. We don't have die cut label stock, becuase we have several different size labels that need to be printed for our products. We would be constantly changing label stock if we did use die cut. HELP!!!!

Could you let us know from where are you sending your labels to print?
Are you using the latest version of our Seagull drivers?
Note that our barcode and label printing and design software "BarTender" would allow you to save the document settings (including page size) on the actual BarTender document file; so each time you send a document, the printer will revert to the size already saved in that file.0 -
I am printing them from my desktop to the printer that is on the network (the printer is sitting on my desk). I beleive it is a functionality of the printer itsef, but wasn't sure if anyone has had this issue and knows how to work around it. Each of the labels that I have created in BarTender are set up as different sizes. I have a call scheduled with the company that sold us the printer, so I will see if they have a fix to the issue. 0 -
Then can I understand that you are working with BarTender and sending the print jobs directly from the application?
Could you let me know what version edition and build of BarTender are you working with?
In general when creating and saving a document the page size specified in the "File>Page Setup..." dialog, under the "Page" tab, is the one that will be sent to the printer, regardless of what settings are currently specified in the driver (or in the printer memory).
As you are using a continuous stock if, as a test, you create two simple documents each with a different length and send them to print, does the printer recognize the different sizes?0 -
Yes, sending right from the application. Using BarTender Pro 9.4. I will check the page print setting to see what they are and try another test run. If I remember correctly they were set to whatever the print driver is set to, but I will check this afternoon and get back to you. The printer is not recognizing the different sizes, and will either feed a lot of stock after the print of a short label, or cut off the print of a long label, anything that is longer than the first label I printed anyway. 0
