64-Bit Sdk Issue?
whenever i compile my application for any cpu I get the following error:
Could not load file or assembly 'Seagull.BarTender.Print, Version=10.0.4.1, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=109ff779a1b4cbc7' or one of its dependencies. An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format.
the only fix for this is to compile to application with a target CPU of X86. now considering we are running in a generally 64-bit environment it is starting to cause issues with print spool process for converting print jobs from 32-bit to 64-bit and then not closing the spool process causes handle invalid errors when the spool process crashes. (Windows Knowledge base article)
is there something obvious i am missing about the SDK or is it just not 64-bit compatible yet?
any help would be greatly appreciated :)
Cheers,
Scott

Hello Scott,
BarTender is a 32 bit applications, so you'll need to set the application's architecture accordingly.
As such BarTender (even when being automated) should work as expected in any 64 bit Windows OS. Could it be that you haven't set appropriately the application's architecture and the system is trying to run BarTender, or some of its components, as a 64 bit?
*If you are working with Windows drivers and using several computers of 64 and 32 bits, please remember to update your drivers for both architectures in order to be able to share them through your different computers (under the "Share" tab of the driver properties).
Regards.

so there is no 64-bit progression plans for bartender currently? the fact of the application being 32 bit is what is causing my issues, as I linked in my first post.
Cheers,
Scott

Hello Scott,
Sorry for the delay; there are certainly plans of developing BarTender natively on 64 bits (and thus its .NET SDKs) although I don't know at what point this will happen (or even if it will actually come to happen at all).
Sorry for not being able to offer more details at this point.
Regards.
