Label Template needed readjusting halfway through reel.

Hi,

We buy reels containing 1000 labels. Initially I set up the template in a way that meant the ink transfer was perfectly aligned on the label. However, today there was an issue with the printed information being way off what it normally was. The issue arose after printing labels which had tape on the underside of the backing paper. The label supplier has taped two reels together to form one larger reel. Now all the remaining labels are being printed with the information in different places of the label. I've changed the template which has corrected it.

 

My question is this... Would this have been the cause of my issue and do you think it would be best to contact the label supplier so it won't happen again? Any other fixes without moving the template print information around?

  It sounds like the printer auto calibrated to the new start of print location. My guess is the sensor setting in the label is set to the default "Use Current Printer Setting"  and you could try adjusting this to the actual sensor (gap) that the labels use.
