Print a label when functional test passes

I am testing circuit board assemblies and would like to print some of the test data to a label. Once the unit has passed test the test data will be appended to an Excel file. The test software will prompt the operator to print test data. If yes is selected I would like Bartender to open the excel file and print the most recent data that has been written. What would be the best  way to approach this.

  You may have problems with multiple applications trying to access the same Excel document at the same time.

  One way round this would be to, when prompted and if "Yes" your program saves the data it has just added to Excel to a text file and then you could use Integration Builder (need Automation edition or above) to trigger the label production automatically.
