Transform RFID data from RFID reader in keyboard wedge mode
Can BarTender be used to transform RFID data from an RFID reader operating as a keyboard wedge? We need to be able to scan an RFID tag and remove some characters from the beginning or from the end of the scanned data. The output would be used in an input field on a website that we have no ability to customize. If not, is there software available out there that does?

Never tried this, but if you can scan the data and see it in say a Notepad document then you should be able to do the same with BarTender . You would need to configure the appropriate truncation to strip off/keep the respective characters however I am not sure what you mean about scanning into a website field unless you are referring to a BarTender Data Entry field in a label to be printed via Print Portal.

We use a third-party website with an input field for searching order items based off of identifier data that is normally encoded in barcodes (9-10 hexadecimal digits). We would like to encode these identifiers in RFID tags as well, but the RFID reader outputs too many characters before or after the encoded data for the website to still be able to use it properly. Would BarTender be able to transform that data before it gets into that website's input field? Or, is BarTender intended to only work within its own data entry fields?

BarTender will encode the data and allow you to write it to the appropriate tags if you are using the correct printer and media but wont read tag data and output/enter it into a website prompt.
If you are not able to amend the data being encoded into the tags then it sounds like you need to be able to manipulate the data being output from your reader to enable to do this and this would depend whether your reader has any capability to edit the data before it is output. Or else you would need to use something like a software wedge that will allow you edit the data string and only keep the characters you need.
