Bartender suggests odd X-dimensions with half pixels 追蹤

I am using Bartender to generate various test targets and cannot wrap my head around the suggested X-dimensions (or module sizes) based on my target resolution. When printing with 600dpi, I would expect BT to suggest multiples of the minimum dot size, which in this case is 1.666 mils [42.333 µm].

So, 5 dots would give 8.33 mils, 6 dots 10 mils and so forth.

BT allows 9.17 mils and 10.83 mils, i.e. 5.5 dots and 6.5 dots - I would expect half pixels to diminish the quality of the resulting print. Is there a good reason to block full pixel values and only allow n+0.5 multiples of the dot size?

Thank you in advance

I have just tried various settings with both a Zebra and TEC 600 dpi printer (Seagull) driver. I have not adjusted any of the printer driver defaults nor the settings via the X dimension button and jumps are going up by 1.67 mils each time.

What driver/printer are you using?

I have tried this with

- HP office printer with standard drivers
- Kyocera M8130 with the KX drivers
- PDF24 virtual printer with 600dpi setting

The principle is the same everywhere, the suggested mil sizes are always n+0.5

I get the same thing with the Kyocera but as mentioned above not with the dedicated label printer drivers including none Seagull drivers too (tested with a 600 dpi Zebra 110Xi4 so it looks to be something in the drivers you are using that are causing the issue
