BarTender images
Having printed out some labels using JPG images, the image quality is quite poor. What is the best file type for picture quality within BarTender? Or any other tips for improving picture quality.
Thanks,

Hello William,
Thank you for reaching us via our Community Forums.
We would suggest reviewing our guide here (especially the part about print quality). Also, are you using our Drivers by Seagull™ printer drivers? Are these up to date? If not, please download our latest drivers here.
Then please try the following, go to "Object Print Method" under File > Print > Object Print Method, and change all settings to Raster Graphics.
Also under the Performance tab uncheck all options and try to print again to see if this would make any difference.
If your issue persists, it could be a physical limitation on the printer. Please check with the printer manufacturer to
see how small they can print before the image becomes distorted.
Finally, for reference, could you send us a screenshot of the printed output?
Thank you.0 -
Hi Xabier,
Thanks for getting back to me. I have just successfully downloaded the Printer drivers. I have also ticked 'Raster Graphics' for 'true text type' but all other options are saying 'auto' and not letting me change them. I also do not have the performance tab (only print and object method). Is this unavailable as I am only on the free trial?
Thanks,

Hello William,
BarTender's 30-day trial doesn't have much in the way of limitations, so this shouldn't be the cause of it. Some Drivers don't have the Performance tab, and some don't have many options in the Object Print Method.
Here's a list of supported image formats, if you want to try something other than JPG: https://support.seagullscientific.com/hc/en-us/articles/206317827-Supported-image-formats
I would try opening up your driver settings directly and changing the darkness, speed, and/or quality options. You can find this under Windows Printers & Scanners > Select your Printer > Manage, and look under both Printer Properties and Printer Preferences. Where exactly these options are located and if the driver even has these options, will vary from driver to driver.
If adjusting these options doesn't make a difference, try printing the image directly from Windows, instead of from BarTender. If it's still of poor quality, then it's likely your printer's limitations such as dpi, and you'll want to contact your Printer Manufacturer for more details.
