Slow Printing To Xerox 7830 Printer
When printing a jpeg based label file to a Xerox 7830 printer, with the inclusion of sequential numbering in one of the text areas on the label, the printing speed is reduced considerably and the file size of the print job is increased dramatically.
For example, a print job of 100 sheets (1000 labels) which would normally take minutes to complete is taking in excess of 2 1/2 hours to complete.
Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi Harriet,
For thermal barcode printers with Seagull driver, BarTender optimizes print code such as using Printer's font and Printer's serial number feature, however those optimization won't apply to laser printers.
In laser printers, Printing serial number needs whole page image to be created for each page. that makes, you will have 100 page of image data, so I won't surprise when you get 100 times of print job size compare to non serialized labels.
However 2 1/2 hours are quite slow. Try...
- Update to the latest printer driver
- Reduce picture's resolution / file size used in BarTender
- Change Printer's image / data resolution (such as 1200dpi to 600dpi)

Hi Shotaro,
Thanks for the info, I have tried reducing the size of the image file I am using and this seems to have sped the whole process up a bit for now. I will also explore the other options you mentioned.
Thanks again.
