VideoJet: Using the printers batch counter
Print template/document created in Bartender, is sent to the VideoJet printer for every new order. Each order contains of an unknown number of packages. The VideJet holds the template and print on every package the same information, except for date/time and batch/package count. The printer has a batch counter. I would like to refer to this counter from within the Bartender Template, how can this be done ?
Prints are NOT sent to the printer for each package so serialize options in Bartender is NOT an option. If you use VideoJets print software (CLARISOFT), then it works. In there you choose to use a counter, and the printer will fill in the value on print time.
Has anyone tried this and knows how to set this up ?

Not 100% sure but this may work - add the serial number field onto the label as if BarTender were going to control this but then on the Print screen Performance tab make sure the Allow Serialisation button is ticked as this means the printer handles this aspect rather than BarTender

Ticked on or off ?

Ticked on. You will need to have a serialsed field on the label too so the correct commands are sent to the device

Nope.... Didn't work!

Sorry Anders not sure then. If I were using a Zebra print engine and wanted to use the internal counting procedure of that unit then this is how I would set up together with the Print until Cancelled / Unlimited Quantity setting.
